Student and faculty pricing

The data protection course, at a student price.

Companies pay people to keep their data safe and to get it back after an attack. Veeam is the software most of them use, and Veeam requires training before you can sit the VMCE+ exam. This course meets that requirement.

What this actually is

Most schools do not teach this. That is part of why it pays.

Backup and recovery is the job of making sure a company can get its data back after a failure, a mistake or a ransomware attack. Veeam is the tool most companies use, and Veeam certification is a credential employers ask for by name.

Why the certification matters

VMCE and VMCA retired in March 2026. VMCE+ and VMCSE replaced them, and Veeam made training a hard requirement to sit either exam. Graduating with the training already done puts you ahead of applicants who have to find it themselves.

What this leads to

The reason people do this.

Companies pay for this skill because losing their data costs them far more than paying someone who can get it back.

Work that needs no certification$29,000 to $37,000
Entry level, data protection$55,000 to $75,000
Three to five years in$95,000 to $120,000
1.3%

That is what $699 works out to against a first year salary at the bottom of the entry level range. You are buying the credential that gets you considered for the second bar.

Wage figures are US Bureau of Labor Statistics data for the Tampa metro area, May 2025, and the Florida Department of Commerce minimum wage schedule. The uncertified range reflects $14 to $18 an hour at full time hours; Florida’s minimum wage is $14.00, rising to $15.00 on 30 September 2026. Salary ranges reflect US market data as of 2026. For network and systems administrators, even the lowest paid tenth earn about $62,640 across the US and about $62,280 around Tampa. What you earn depends on your experience, your employer and where you live. Finishing this course does not guarantee you a job, an interview, or any particular salary.

Is it worth your time and money?

A walkthrough of what the training covers, how it is structured, and who it suits, from the Tsunati team who built it. Under three minutes, no signup.

You will hear “Veeam University Pro” in this video. That is our sister school for enterprise teams. The four courses are the same ones you get here, taught from the same material. Only the school name and the plan around it are different.

This is our own video, so treat it as the sales pitch. The learner posts further down are not ours.

What learners say

Real posts from people who took these courses.

Not collected testimonials. These are public posts learners wrote on their own accounts, on their own initiative.

These learners took the same four courses on Veeam University Pro, our sister school for enterprise teams. The curriculum is identical. Posts are embedded live from LinkedIn and belong to their authors.

What they said about the actual teaching

The content was split into manageable chunks, some very short, with the longest modules around 20 minutes.

The quizzes are more detailed than the course alone might suggest. In several cases, the questions referenced very specific statements made by the trainer, so listening carefully really matters.

I am enjoying it so far. I highly recommend taking this training course.

More from the Veeam community

If you are working with Veeam Backup and Replication and you have not yet invested time in understanding VRO, this course is the most efficient way to get there.

I found the self-paced format genuinely beneficial: I could fit the content around my schedule, with a few longer sessions over a weekend.

VUG United Kingdom Co-Lead

By the end of the course, I felt I had a solid understanding of the product and where it can add value, especially the real-world use cases it is designed for.

This training feels less like a checkbox and more like an opportunity to recalibrate how I use the product.

I took the course, and it was fantastic, and the instructor was great.

This immediately sets the tone: this is a hands-on course.

You are not on your own

Someone is actually there.

Self paced does not mean unsupported. The courses are moderated, and there is a person on the other end when you need one.

Ask questions as you go

The courses are moderated. If a lesson or a lab does not make sense, post your question and get an answer instead of guessing.

Questions

Before you start.

Do I have to take training to get certified?

Yes. Veeam requires it. Attending relevant training is a hard requirement to sit the VMCE+ and VMCSE exams, and this course meets that requirement because Tsunati is a Veeam Authorized Education Center.

My school email was not recognised. What now?

Contact us at support@veeamuniversity.com and we will review your domain. We accept academic domains worldwide, not only .edu, and the list is not exhaustive.

What does the exam cost?

Veeam has not published VMCE+ pricing yet. The exam is not included here. You book and pay for it through Veeam when you are ready.

Am I charged again after 90 days?

No. You pay $699 once. There is no subscription and nothing renews, so there is nothing to cancel. Your access runs for 90 days from the day you buy and then closes.

Can I split the cost into smaller payments?

Yes. Choose Klarna or Afterpay in the payment box instead of a card. They pay the $699 up front and you pay them back over time. They show you the amounts and dates before you agree, and your courses open right away either way.

How many hours will this take?

About 71 hours across the four courses. Spread over 90 days that is roughly five to six hours a week, which fits alongside a full course load.

Do I need a lab or my own hardware?

No. The courses use clickable labs, so nothing is required beyond a browser.

Do I need experience to start?

There is no formal prerequisite. Comfort with Windows, Linux and basic networking helps you move faster.

Can I ask questions while I work through it?

Yes. The courses are moderated, so you can post a question when something does not make sense and get an answer. You can also compare notes with other learners and the wider Veeam community.

Who do I contact about billing, passwords or access?

Email support@veeamuniversity.com and a person will help. That is the right address for anything to do with your account rather than the course material itself.

The video says Veeam University Pro. Is that the same thing?

Yes. Veeam University Pro is our sister school for enterprise teams. The four courses are the same ones you get here, taught from the same material. Only the school name and the plan around it are different.

How do I get Enterprise Data Security?

Finish the other three courses and it unlocks automatically, at no extra cost.

Paying for it

You do not have to pay it all today.

At checkout you can choose Klarna or Afterpay instead of a card. Both are Buy Now, Pay Later services. They pay the $699 for you up front, and you pay them back in smaller amounts over time.

You start right away

Your courses open the moment the order goes through, exactly as they would if you paid by card. You are not waiting for payments to finish.

You see the plan first

Klarna and Afterpay show you the payment amounts and the dates before you agree to anything. Nothing is hidden.

Or pay by card

Card, Klarna and Afterpay all sit side by side in the payment box. Pick whichever one suits you.

Look for the Klarna and Afterpay logos. In the payment box they show up as small logo buttons next to the card option, so they are easy to miss. Click one to switch.
